Driving implementation of Scope 3 action at scale.

To make net-zero value chains possible by 2050, we need organizations committed to delivering positive environmental and social impact up and down their value chains. This requires the courage to challenge the status quo, as well as new ways and means to make change happen.

Driven by SustainCERT and Gold Standard, the Value Change Initiative is the only initiative working across sectors with a specific focus on how to account for Scope 3 emissions. We are a consortium of ambitious, committed organisations writing a playbook for positive change.

VISION

Net-Zero Value Chains by 2050

Why Scope 3?

In most industries, Scope 3 emissions represent the largest source of a company’s carbon footprint, but also the hardest to manage.

With more clarity on how to account and report on impacts achieved up and down value chains, companies can set and meet more ambitious targets and gain recognition for this leadership, providing more incentives for action and investment.

How we make it work

The challenges of Scope 3 cannot be solved in silos. The Value Change Initiative is a multi-stakeholder forum where every partner has a voice in creating and challenging guidance, so that together we can solve practical challenges, find solutions and set the bar for meaningful Scope 3 action and investments at scale.

The Initiative works with four levels of engagements, all coming together in a governance framework to define strategic mandates, provide a guiding structure and ensure transparent and efficient management.
