Alternatively, you can share your overall feedback by sending an e-mail to info@valuechangeinitiative.com with the subject line “Apparel Public Consultation.”

Following the public consultation period, the Value Change Initiative will review all feedback and incorporate relevant insights into the final version of the guidance, which is set to be published in March 2025. This publication will serve as a key reference for interventions across the apparel sector.

About the Publication

The aim of the output is to provide sector-specific guidance to enable credible accounting, reporting, and claiming of emissions reductions in the Apparel & Footwear sector. It builds on the foundational VCI Guidance 1.1 (2021) and the Apparel & Footwear Value Chain Intervention Guidance (2023). The output of the 3rd edition of this working group introduces foundational concepts for defining interventions and explores both current practices and forward-thinking approaches to reporting and claiming impacts. The document addresses both land-based and manufacturing process interventions, presenting recommendations to incentivize and accelerate decarbonization efforts across the sector.
